"OneTa" by Chorit
OneTa (One-Ta) is the name of a character that has only one eye. The word “One” is in English and the word “Ta” is in Thai. Together they mean “one eye”.
OneTa was first originally drawn in 2006. She is four years old now. The creator named Chorit (Cho-Rit) is inspired from a Turkish legend. For more than a thousand year, Turkish people believe in an evil eye, a one-eye symbol, which is meant to protect against bad things. As well as being worn by people, including babies, it can be seen on cars, doors, horses and even air planes. If any bad things come in to the persons wearing it, the eye will reflect bad things, protect them, and bring good lucks to them.
Chorit puts this idea into the character “OneTa” to bring smiles and good lucks to everyone seeing her.
